Comics Liz Miele and Carmen Lynch riff on Beantown.

L

iz Miele made her comedy debut at 16, and by 22 appeared on Comedy Central. Carmen Lynch started off as a flamenco dancer in her native Spain when she was five and has since appeared twice as a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. All grown up now, they write, act, and edit together, and produce a popular web series, Apt C3. Here are some of Miele‘s and Lynch‘s Boston faves:

1

Johnny Cupcakes. Liz’s favorite T-shirt company. Originally only online, it opened its first store a few years ago on Newbury Street. All of the designs revolve around cupcakes and are limited edition.

2

Fenway (Liz again). I’m not a baseball fan, but whenever I’m in town doing shows I bring my little brothers. It’s just a cool feeling to be around so many excited people and pretend like you get what’s happening.

3

The Sam Adams Brewery tour. Another thing my brothers love, and they aren’t even old enough to drink. They give kids free root beer (really great root beer, by the way) and the adults free beer and a free glass. Okay, it’s about the free stuff, but fun nonetheless.

4

The Comedy Studio. It’s above a Chinese food restaurant and I always have trouble finding it. But it’s always packed with really fun audiences that get it and I just enjoy the comics and vibe there.

5

Carmen’s favorite? Your accent! I like an accent that is even more difficult to understand then the one from the Bronx.

6

New England Clam Chowder, and it doesn’t get any better than at Legal Sea Foods.

7

So many famous families come from Boston. Like the Adams family. I love President John Adams and his wife, Morticia.

The Bull and Finch. No one can deny that Cheers was one of the best shows in the ’80s, and I can’t deny my crush on Woody. Only the sign (and not the bar) made it on the show, but I once took a guy I liked to “the sign” and got a lot of … brownie points.
