ard to believe though it may be, there’s still a beach on Nantucket many tourists haven’t found. The Creeks is a hidden gem and favorite with the locals, thanks to its remote location (you have to walk through a marsh to get there), spectacular harbor views, and peace and quiet. It’s also a prime place to check out the aquatic life that comes in with the calm tide, including horseshoe crabs and spider crabs. Clements

The native Wampanoag name for Nantucket is Canopache, which means “place of peace.”
