eggie burgers, like the MBTA, are hit or miss. Except at Christopher’s. Its homemade patty is topped with pesto and comes with both a salad and fries. For tried and true carnivores, the pub (sister to Toad, Cambridge Common, the Lizard Lounge, and the West Side Lounge) serves beef and turkey burgers, including a “burgah of the day,” all served not on conventional buns, but on English muffins. The weekly specials, such as jambalaya and fried catfish, can be enjoyed around the cozy fireplace and washed down with a beer or a cocktail from the martini menu, and finished off with a root-beer float, brownie sundae, or other old-school dessert.
