A cool place to study—or not

f there’s a hidden jewel among the gritty liquor stores and secondhand furniture shops of Harvard Avenue between Brighton and Commonwealth avenues in Allston, it’s PC Café Between Hours, a tidy Internet café and one of Boston’s best secret study hideouts, with comfy seating, video games, and an unexpectedly upscale feel. Internet access is really only a front for this place: The real reason to come here is its bubble tea and unique desserts. Start out with the mango slush boba—the tapioca balls are the softest around and in every other sip you’ll get a nice chunk of fresh fruit. The tastiest sweet is the patbingsoo, a South Korean dessert made with kiwi, strawberry, pineapple, pears, tapioca pearls, and azuki and served with vanilla ice cream over a bed of shaved ice. There are also coffees, cheesecakes, and banana splits. Vitale and Rineman
