afé Arpeggio is about more than just the Parisian bistro-style gourmet sandwiches and ice-cream sundaes. It spotlights both music with open-mic nights and the visual arts as a veritable gallery where local artists can display (and customers can buy) their work. All three locations showcase new talent; the New Bedford shop hosts open-mic nights on Thursdays, and the Fall River café makes its own ice cream in view from the window. It’s another kind of art that passersby can admire—and eat. Cook
“Arpeggio” is a musical term meaning the playing of notes in a chord in sequence, rather than simultaneously. It can be literally translated to mean “broken chord.”
