ounded in 1976 by a couple of unemployed neighbors, the Ice Creamsmith is a reminder that getting out of the rat race can lead to much, much better things. It serves a selection of old-fashioned 14 percent butterfat ice cream made in an Emery Thompson ice cream freezer, with classic flavors like vanilla, strawberry, and sweet cream, but also frozen pudding, banana, and a revolving selection of low-fat frozen yogurt and fruit sorbets under toppings ranging from Reese’s Cups to bubble gum, and specialties including ice-cream sundaes.
