Made of brined roast turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo on fresh-baked Portuguese bread, it’s by far Nantucket’s greatest sandwich, whose cult-like following grew only more fervent when Provisions—the tiny shop where it’s made—was bought by chef Amanda Lydon. Lydon also added baked goods including rolled brioche fried with pastry cream and the “doughnut muffin,” brushed with butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. So save room for dessert.

A partner in the Straight Wharf restaurant next door to Provisions, Amanda Lydon majored in English at Harvard. Her father, Christopher Lydon, ran for mayor of Boston; her sister is the food writer Sarah Lydon.
