hort of going to sea yourself, you can’t get fish any fresher than at the dock. Which is where, if you look hard enough, you’ll find Larsen’s Fish Market, run by a friendly family of longtime local fishermen, which sells right-off-the-boat seafood to take home and cook yourself, or on paper plates with plastic utensils to enjoy on the driftwood bench and clam crates out back on the pier—including chowder, lobster bisque, and lobster rolls. You can also order tuna kabobs, seafood sausage, crab cake, and precooked lobsters to go. (Call ahead to be safe.)
The Larsen family also runs the Net Result in Vineyard Haven, a restaurant and fish market with fried clam rolls, steamed mussels, full clambakes, and sushi to eat in or take home.
