he Sesuit Harbor Café is the definition of secret, hidden as it is down back roads behind a hard-to-find marina. The payoff? Some of the best lobster rolls on Cape Cod, served in toasted, buttered buns on paper plates at picnic tables behind the gray-shingled, one-story café overlooking quiet Sesuit Harbor. The owners say the secret is the spices in the mayo, but they won’t divulge what those are. No matter; these lobster rolls are worth the hunt. Breakfast is also served here for the boaters, fishermen, and marina workers whose consistent patronage proves this place is legit. The whole-belly fried clams are good, too.

The Congregational Church of South Dennis at 218 Main St. boasts the oldest operating pipe organ in America, dating from 1765, and a chandelier once lit with whale oil contributed by its many sea-captain members. The cemetery is filled with the graves of sailors lost at sea.
