T
he best way to find the Cape Cod Lavender Farm is to follow your nose. It will lead you through a quiet, residential street and up a narrow dirt road—yes, it is meant for driving—to a tiny, lavender-themed shop adorned with potted plants and twinkling purple lights. Inside you’ll find unique gifts include bunches of lavender, lavender plants, lavender/lemon marmalade, handmade soaps, and other lavender products. But the magic has just begun: outside, wooded paths will lead you through secret gardens and “faery” castles to the lavender farms themselves. Come in June to experience rows upon rows of violet blossoms spread over 12 acres. O’Brien
The word “lavender” comes from the Latin “lavare,” which means “to wash,” which is what lavendar plants were often originally used for.
