an Coffey has a job most kids and adults would covet. He’s the master model builder at LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Assembly Row in Somerville. Coffey won the job in an open competition and now gets paid to build LEGO models and teach building workshops all day, including at the little-known monthly adult nights , when kids at heart get to take over the place, held the the third Wednesday every month. The next one, on August 19, will be “Game Night,” with Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Family Feud elements added to the building challenges and soft-brick games. Here’s what Coffey likes to do when he’s not busy playing with plastic bricks:

1

The W Hotel Lounge is a great place for a night on the town with all your friends, filled with a young professional crowd and right across from the Citi Performing Arts Center.

2

Abe and Louie’s is my favorite steak house, with exceptional service and incredible desserts. A great place for a business dinner or a night out.

3

The Legal rooftop bar. If you could mix exceptional views with delicious food and a location on top of a building in the harbor, you’d get this place. It also has great sushi.

4

Boston Common. When you need to get away from the hustle and bustle, all you have to do is step into the park and you instantly forget you’re in the middle of the city. Bring a lunch and find your own bench.

The Boston Public Library has a special place in my heart; it’s where (I won the Brick Factor competition and got this job. I like to go there and find a quiet corner to relax.
