Simple, friendly, and down to earth, this unlikely dive-y diner is a great place to start your mornings. (Lunch and dinner are served here, too, with simple salads, sandwiches, and burgers, but we like the breakfasts best.) Grab a seat in one of the cozy booths and try the Maine wild blueberry pancakes, or “the Mess”: scrambled eggs with spinach, onions, and Swiss cheese, served with home fries, toast, and coffee. Do what the locals do and go early (or late) to avoid the line.
