Flavors from Italy, ingredients from here

izzeria Posto is an authentic, modern-day Italian pizzeria with a twist: It might feel like Italy, but half of the ingredients come from local farmers and artisans, or are made in house (like the fresh everyday mozzarella). It’s a great combination of eating well and buying local. And the unusually large selection of 50 wines by the glass will save you money on bottles, thanks to the area’s only Enzo wine-storage system. The Neapolitan pizzas are wood-fired, and there’s also a full menu, including carpaccio made with Vermont-raised, grass-fed sirloin, served up in a bustling, yet intimate, atmosphere and at a bar that also features an unusually broad selection of local craft beers. You can even order, with one week’s notice, a whole Vermont pig served family style for up to 15. Tebsherany

Dun Gifford, a Brahmin and political insider who in his earlier life helped subdue the assassin of Robert F. Kennedy, opened a cookie company at Quincy Market with John Kerry, and was a friend of Julia Child.
