ohn Dewar & Company owner John Dewar says his shop was about what buying food was like before supermarkets wiped out neighborhood grocers. But when Dewar closed his stores in Wellesley and Newton, you thought you’d have to trudge back to the meat department at the local Shop & Stop. Well, here’s a secret: You can still find Dewar’s exotic and high-end meats at the unassuming Volante Farms in Needham. Volante also sells produce grown in its own farm and greenhouses, beer and wine, ice cream, and prepared foods. You’ll come off like a gourmet, and all you have to do is turn on the oven.
