n a city swimming in burrito chains, it’s hard to find a place that offers the real Mexican experience, or at least a menu with more than just burritos and fajitas. That’s okay; we’ve found one for you. Montecristo Mexican Grill serves up the familiar along with some different choices, like award-winning papusas—corn tortillas filled with pork, chicken, zucchini, beans, and cheese. If your Spanish is no bueno, there’s a menu on the wall with every item pictured. Just point. And come hungry; portions are huge for the price. There’s also an impressive selection of Mexican beers or Jarritos in flavors including watermelon. The brightly painted walls and Latin soundtrack complete an experience you won’t find at the chains. Brigham Circle is named for the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital—now part of Brigham and Women’s Hospital—which was created with a $2 million bequest from restaurateur, real-estate mogul, and railroad investor Peter Bent Brigham, who died unmarried and childless.
