Where the locals know to go for lunch

he Coffee Roost is where the locals go to sip some morning brew and discuss the latest politics and community gossip. Why just the locals? Because they’re apparently the only ones who can find the place, which is under a big sign that, confusingly, reads, “Russell’s Corner.” Don’t let first appearances stop you, though. The coffee at the Roost is surprisingly good, and goes nicely with a freshly toasted bagel, or a healthy lunch, including vegetarian and vegan options, salads, grilled eggplant and zucchini soup, and a black-bean burger, to enjoy in a comfortably overstuffed chair by the window. But save room for dessert—the Roost features Richardson’s ice cream for that. O’Brien
