Classy cocktails, no attitude, at the oldest bar in town

ou could be forgiven for expecting a dress code at a classy place like Green Street. After all, it’s the oldest continuously operating bar in Cambridge and it’s known for fancy cocktails with ingredients such as apricot liqueur. But manager Mark Young says, “We’re not here to be snobby like that. We just want to make people happy.” Owner Dylan Black cut his teeth as a bartender at the late, lamented B-Side, which was a launching pad for many of the key players in Boston’s cocktail renaissance. Green Street also serves well-crafted American food, but the real standouts here are the cocktails. While there’s a standard menu with about 10 rotating drinks, regulars in the know ask for the “A to Z list” with more than 150 different alcoholic creations. And now you’re in the know, too. Duffy

Green M&Ms have long been rumored to have aphrodisiac properties, a belief so entrenched that producer M&M/Mars issued a statement that it “cannot explain any extraordinary powers” attributed to green M&Ms, “either scientifically or medically,” but ultimately gave in and produced all-green M&Ms for Valentine’s Day.
