ine and vintage fashion have something in common: They get better with age. Now they have something else in common. Current Vintage sells the odd combination of vintage designer fashion and fine wine, including under its own label. One side of the store is bursting with colorful vintage pieces dating back as far as the 1960s, made by high-end designers the likes of Emilio Pucci and Lily Pulitzer, plus accessories, shoes, and home furnishings. On the other side are fine wines and cocktail-hour necessities, plus Current Vintage wines in chardonnay, pinot noir, and cabernet. And don’t overlook the women’s vintage T-shirts, and one of the biggest Lucite handbag collections in America. Clements

Macy’s founder Rowland Hussey Macy was born on Nantucket and after working briefly on a whaling ship (during which time he had a red star tattooed on his hand that would later become the Macy’s logo) began his retail career working in a shop on Main Street before he moved to Haverhill and opened his own store.
