Hot chocolate imported from the last place you’d expect

T

he Mexican hot chocolate—a blissful concoction of chocolate, chipotle, and cinnamon—is only one of seven flavors of hot chocolate at the 1369 Coffee House, named for its location at 1369 Cambridge St. in Inman Square, the former home of 1369 Jazz Club. It’s hard to tell if this café is so quiet because everyone inside is sitting solo, reading or working on their laptops, or if everyone inside is sitting solo because it’s so quiet. Maybe it’s the colors, the artwork, or the fact that none of the lamps match, but the atmosphere is a peaceful respite from the fast-food restaurants, convenience stores, and traffic of Central Square.
