ape Cod has a legacy of producing hand-made glass that dates back to the 18th century. But the most unusual process and striking examples were developed in modern times by an MIT researcher who studied early Egyptian art. The result is the colorful, kiln-fired glassware at the Sydenstricker Glass Gallery, made by sifting powdered glass through a stencil between two larger sheets of glass that are then placed in a mold and fused together. The showroom may not look like much from the outside, but it’s dazzling on the inside, where you can also watch each piece made by hand.
Cape Cod is 20 miles at its widest and 70 miles long from the Cape Cod Canal to the tip of Provincetown.
