Fusion Power

A surprisingly successful combination of cuisines

t can be hard to find something different to eat on Cape Cod. It would be even harder to find something more different than Abba. Here chef and co-owner Erez Pinhas serves up a surprisingly successful fusion of Israeli and Asian cuisine, from Thai seafood stew with native mussels, scallops, clams, fish, shrimp, and jasmine rice to marinated rack of lamb with glazed dried fruit, couscous, and peas in mint sauce. Equally surprising is the interior of this unassuming onetime house well off the beaten track. Designed by Los Angeles interior decorator-to-the-rich-and-famous Budd Holden, it is sleek and modern, with lots of pillows and flickering candles in Moroccan tea glasses. It’s also very, very small, and even though there’s an outdoor seating area available in warmer months, this is one clandestine restaurant where reservations are a good idea.
