A three-piece throwback to, well, everything

his three-piece fusion throwback grooves so hard you’d think its name was Otis Groove, not Otis Grove. These Berklee grads dabble in everything from Soulive medleys to funked-up Sabbath covers while offering up juicy originals that beg for an emcee’s touch. Otis Grove isn’t afraid to take the old standby for a quick spin around the block, especially when guitarist Tyler Drabick dusts off riffs that could have been built on Jimmy Page’s Les Paul. Band workhorse Sam Gilman pushes the Hammond organ into every corner, playing tricks on your ears as he follows along with a smooth bass line. It makes you question how many limbs there are in Otis Grove. Yes, it’s really only three guys up there. Wallace
