ucked away behind the Nantucket Yacht Club, Sayle’s is a local treasure specializing in fresh seafood, with a gorgeous view of the harbor thrown in for good measure. It looks at first more like an aquarium than a seafood store, with a huge tank of live lobsters and crabs at the door. But that’s just an indication of how fresh this stuff is. You can take it home to fry, broil, boil, or grill yourself, or get prepared foods to go. Try the fisherman’s platter; fried fish, scallops, and shrimp paired with a hearty helping of crispy fries, a cup of Nantucket clam chowder, and cole slaw. Pass the tarter sauce! Clements
Charlie Sayle Sr., for whom Sayle’s Seafood is named, was an historian and artist who designed and built the 27-foot sailing sloop Argonaut in 1935; . The sloop is available for catered charter cruises, piloted by Sayle’s son Charlie Jr., at happy hour, sunset, or other times by appointment.
