kay, it didn’t actually get its start during Prohibition, but Saloon pulls off the speakeasy vibe. The cocktails tend toward brown liquors and local beers and the brown paper menus list charcuterie boards and cheese plates. The beer-battered pickled peppers stuffed with Boursin cheese and served with ranch dipping sauce is an innovative take on an appetizer. Come early Sunday through Monday for $1 oysters. Saloon won’t be easy to find, but it’s worth the search. Minton
