A “vintage-modern” coffeehouse for the working stiff

ehind every American dream is a cup of coffee in the morning. That’s the theme at Fuel America, an out-of-the-way but hip and fashionable coffeehouse that strives to ignite this “can-do” attitude with its own coffee, custom espressos, loose-leaf teas, and fresh-baked pastries (try the custom-assembled whoopie pies), sandwiches, and pizza. The large space is decorated with black-and-white photos of famous and not-so-famous Americans doing inspirational things, and the booths are full of them too—customers studying, meeting, or typing away on laptops. All of this in a setting that manages to be genuinely relaxing. Leccese
