udo Shoes founder Scot Fitzsimmons is a longtime vegetarian who walks the walk: Fitzsimmons’s shop is New England’s only vegan footwear store. All the shoes, bags, and accessories sold here are made of a leather-like (but non-leather) microfiber, and the boutique itself was designed with sustainability in mind, with recycled steel shelves and sunflower seed hull board. Sudo sells more than two dozen brands of environmentally friendly, ethically manufactured products, from Steve Madden to Cri de Coeur and Saucony and from men’s athletic shoes and hiking boots to women’s high-heeled dress shoes, at prices that are moderate to high, depending on the style and designer.
