A
burrito is probably one of the last things you’d expect to find in a coffee shop. Except at True Grounds. Not only does the breakfast and lunch menu here overflow with salads, sandwiches, and baked goods (including vegan blueberry muffins that will leave your taste buds begging for more), but the homey around-the-corner-coffee-joint vibe is much more laid-back than any sterilized location of that mega chain we can’t remember the name of. This neighborhood-ness is only amplified by True Grounds’ support for local artists, many of whom are regular customers, and whose books, CDs, and paintings are for sale here along with the caffeine. And the burritos. Goldberg
Among the artists, authors, and other notables born in Somerville: Bette Davis, Isaac Asimov, Hal Clement, Jonathan Franzen, Lloyd Schwartz, John Shea, and David Foster Wallace.
