ou’ve heard about improvisational comedy. Now try improvisational cooking. You’ll find it (though not easily, hidden away as it is in a tiny space in Huron Village) at T.W. Food, which serves Parisian- and new American-style fare prepared with ingredients from local growers. Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef Tim Wiechmann takes ordinary dishes and turns them into their own creations—smoked salmon, for instance, but presented with kimchi (Korean cabbage), or soft-shell crab served with bacon, or gnocchi with curry. To enjoy the full experience, check out the prix-fixe “kitchen improv” meals, served at the civilized continental hour of 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Roh
