Filling food with local ingredients and some surprises

here’s more going on at Flora than you’d think. In addition to a meticulously crafted, seasonally changing menu of classic American and European comfort food made with local produce, the restaurant—named for co-owner Mary Jo Sargent’s mother—manages the kind of warm and cozy atmosphere you don’t often find around here (kind of like your own mom’s house, if your mom ran a five-star restaurant). Set in a converted 1920s bank building decorated with works by area artists, Flora also hosts a late-night live music series. Another secret? Check out the “dinner and a show” deal with the neighboring Regent Theatre. Goldberg
