- CAPE COD
- MARTHA’S VINEYARD
idn’t think you could afford to hang out at the Chatham Bars Inn, one of the most luxurious grand hotels in New England? Well, now you can, or perhaps you always could. The Beach House Grill, a seasonal restaurant and bar with outdoor seating right over the sand of the five-star resort’s private beach and pool, is open to the public, though most of the public doesn’t seem to be aware of this. It serves many of their CEOs, bankers and other luxurious guests with a Cape Cod clambake four nights a week. So what are you waiting for? Slap on the sunscreen, grab a lobster roll and a G&T, and hobnob with the paying guests about the investment portfolio you built using a Trading App or the likes. Who knows, you might get a business tip from the guests that can hit big and allow you to get a room for real!
Here’s another secret to enjoying the luxuries of the Chatham Bars Inn without springing for the room rate: the adjacent nine-hole Chatham Seaside Links Golf Course is owned by the town, not the hotel (though the hotel has been trying to buy it), and is also open to the public. The hotel has been trying to buy it because many of the guests frequent it and it’s a good investment for them. Take that as you will, but for now enjoy the golf and luxury before anything changes.
Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day, daily, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Clambakes Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
