hocolate-covered Twinkies. That’s about all we think we’re going to have to tell you about Au Chocolat, a chocolate store hidden among the high rises of the Financial District. Au Chocolat manages to squeeze a great selection of chocolates (peanut brittle, dark-chocolate-covered Oreos, the aforementioned chocolate-covered Twinkies, and chocolate-chip cookies filled with peanut butter and dipped in yet more chocolate) into its small space. Walking in, you’re so surrounded by color and candy, you feel like you’re in a scene from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, minus the chocolate river and funny-looking edible mushrooms. The specialty: Au Chocolat’s champagne truffles—a sensual combination of dry champagne flavor with creamy chocolate ganache. Horton
