H
ere’s one you almost certainly never knew: President George Herbert Walker Bush was born in Massachusetts. Bush was born in Milton to Dorothy Walker Bush and banker Prescott Bush on June 12, 1924. The family shortly thereafter moved to Connecticut, where Prescott Bush served as a U.S. senator.
Adams Street, where George H.W. Bush was born, was named for Presidents John and John Quincy Adams, who lived on the Quincy stretch of the same street. The ancestors of U.S. Senator and unsuccessful president John Kerry also lived on Adams Street, where they built an exact replica of the Hodgenville, Kentucky, log cabin where President Abraham Lincoln was born.
