A little-known escape along the Charles

ucked away behind the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Nashua Street Park gets far less traffic than most other local parks—especially considering the water view, which includes the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge, and a six-foot misting sculpture, granite stairway to the water’s edge, and fiber-optic lighting. Take a stroll by the Charles along manicured pathways or sit on a bench to enjoy the sun. For an extra-secret spot, seek out the park’s far north corner, where you can watch the duck boats come and go. Templeton

The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge is the world’s widest cable-stayed bridge. It’s named for the late Boston-based New England director of the Anti-Defamation League, who reached out to black and Catholic leaders and received the Knighthood of St. Gregory from Pope John Paul II.
