gnore the giant menu over the counter at Bytes at University Park. What you’re looking for is the small whiteboard with the daily specials. If you’re lucky, owner Mamadou Barry will be serving yassa, chicken in a spicy-sweet lemon and onion stew. On any given day, several members of the Barry family will be working at the shop. All are happy to chat about their native Senegal and explain unique dishes such as mafe (peanut butter soup). It’s a taste of West Africa hidden off a small side street between Central and MIT.
