.S. national and 2016 Four Continents ice-dancing champion Alex Shibutani is a six-time national medalist with creativity in his genes; he and his sister and ice-dancing partner, Maia, are the children of musician parents who met at Harvard. He started training when he was 7. Off the ice, the 2014 Olympian and Boston native supports the Jimmy Fund and the ONE Fund. Here are some of the places Shibutani rates as “10”s when he takes off his skates to hang out:

1

It’s no secret, but Boston is a great sports town with incredible teams and fans. Depending on the season, I always have to get to the TD Garden or Fenway for a game.

2

Newbury Street is great for shopping and food. There’s a ton of variety and I always check out the 47Brand store, John Varvatos, and Polo Ralph Lauren.

3

My favorite pizza is Pinocchio’s. Great Sicilian-style slices. The original Regina Pizzeria is a Boston classic. Get the melanzane with eggplant, ricotta, and basil.

4

The sakura-smoked hamachi sashimi at Oishii is incredible.

I always need to get some seafood when I’m in town and the lobster roll and fried oysters are top-notch at Row 34.
